In 1972, Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) responded to Danny Thomas’s request for support for the kids by adopting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, as its major philanthropic project. Since that time, ESA has helped to raise $140 million in cash and pledges for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Circle of Life was formed in 1978, first as a campaign theme, and then later the name was used as the title for a new department at ESA Headquarters. The Circle of Life office within ESA is your primary source for information and assistance regarding St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital events. The Circle of Life serves as a liaison between Circle of Life Coordinators, ESA Membership, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Each year, ESA members help to raise $10 million in cash and pledges for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. ESA’s network of nearly 1,000 chapters has excelled in developing volunteer community leaders, educational programs, and philanthropic projects that benefit mankind.
ESA has raised $120 million in cash and pledges for St. Jude in the past 35 years.
ESA received recognition as St. Jude's organization of the year in 2007.
