The ESA Foundation is a non-profit / tax exempt organization pledged to develop; philanthropic activities of volunteers, provide assistance to established programs that serve human needs, and produce new programs to improve the quality of life. The Internal Revenue Service has ruled that the ESA Foundation is exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue code as an organization operating exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. All Scholarship inquiries may be directed to the Scholarship Director: Applications for Scholarships for the 2008-2009 Academic Year have been processed and were awarded in May 2008. A list of winners has been posted on the Scholarship page. The Scholarship Application for the 2009-2010 Academic Year will be available October 1. The deadline for submitting that application is February 2, 2009. Call for Nominations Nomination Form of the ESA Foundation Directors is now being posted for the term of 2009-2012. Three directors will be elected each for a three-year term. A Total of eight Directors are responsible for carrying out the various programs of the ESA Foundation and planning for it's future. Each Director brings his/her own unique experience and qualifications. In order to be a Director, one only need to be an active ESA Foundation member, holding individual membership, and to have a dedication and interest in helping the ESA Foundation remain a strong and viable Foundation. Please encourage anyone you feel meets our requirements to apply. The Foundation has again this year been given the privilege of having a place in this program. If you are a Federal Employee or know of one, please select CFC # 10031 as a recipient of your charitable contribution during the 2008 campaign. Board of Directors Annual Meeting Membership Scholarships Operational Committees Scholarship Committees: A complete committee structure for the purpose of processing and judging scholarship applications is appointed by the Board of Directors. The applications are sent to the Regional Scholarship Committee. The Regional Scholarship committee determines if the applications have met the necessary criteria after the State Counselors have mailed their state applications to them. The applications are then sent on to an appointed Scholarship Coordinator for judging. The scholarship committees serve under the direction of the Scholarship Director who is an elected member of the Board of Directors. Contributions to the ESA Foundation Contributions may be designated or undesignated. Undesignated gifts become a part of the general fund. Designated contributions are used for the purpose designed by the donor. All contributions are tax deductible. | |||||||||||
