ACTS OF KINDESS
Annie’ Blankets
Chi Epsilon #5493, Los Gatos-Gilroy, has adopted Annie’s Blankets as our community project. We are assisting them in their quest to provide comfort and love to lost and injured companion animals. We are also helping to promote public awareness of the needs of homeless and ailing pets. Members have donated and gathered 51 gently used blankets and towels to date and Annie’s has donated over 18,000 to companion animals in the Central Coast, Bay Area and Southern California animal shelters and veterinary clinics.
Annie’s was inspired by a visit to a local veterinarian's office. A beloved but ailing family dog was resting on the floor, curled comfortably on a pink crocheted blanket. Later that year, a sick stray cat appeared on Edie‘s doorstep. The old towel Edie used to carry and transport the cat to the vet was left there as a small donation. Edie thought about the many animal companions who need temporary shelter like this...and of the blankets that might help them feel at home.
