Eleanor Roosevelt said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

ESA is no ordinary organization. The reasons for joining are as many and varied as those who join. More than forty years ago, a young woman dreamed of meeting and making new friends. One day she was asked to join an ESA Bunco game and has found in all these years that it was one of the best days of her life. Another member wanted to join because so many in her family were a part of doing wonderful things but she needed to fulfill her dreams for membership in a different way. Now she and her friends and their husbands are taking new steps together to find new ways to meet the needs of others and themselves and they have a real vision for the future.

It is in experiencing ESA that we find the greatest joy. It is in working to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital that we find excitement. It is in packing boxes for service men and women that we find a new pride in our country; another opportunity to serve right where we are.

There are still people today that are looking for ways to be of service and to broaden their own horizons. There are still people who dream of helping others and have a vision of a bright future for all of us. We need to invite someone we know, or better yet, someone we don’t know to help with a project or event.

• Ask the PTA to assist with a book sale raising money for the school library;

• Invite the local day care mothers to help make blankets for children in your local hospitals;

• Invite the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts along with their leaders to assist with a rummage sale for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

With each event you host/conduct, invite others to take part showing what a wonderful organization ESA really is; and what we are doing in our communities for all. If we take these steps, others will be asking us to join and to help them fulfill their dreams. And the more we grow, the more we can do for others and ESA.
