- Keep it Fun & Interesting....invite prospective members to fun social or service activities...example: acquaintance I asked for years and years never had time to join but after attending a tail gate party, she said, “where do I sign up?”
- Do something old but add a new and fun twist...don't call it a rush...call it a get acquainted tea party...most importantly make it special...make people feel welcomed and wanted...we want you to join us
- Share the ESA Experience with personal stories of friendships and helping others
- Be more relaxed and open and enjoy it
- Use the knowledge you have and draw on people’s experiences
- At state meetings where you don’t know everyone move around in pairs to ease comfort; encourage interaction...the more you interact there is a reward...make it fun...mix it up
- The greatest ideas are those within our membership...find our what successful chapters are doing and emulate them
- Share your ideas on the IC Council website; use the Idea of the Month
- Always keep those relocating on the radar screen
- Appoint a director of fun for chapter/state meetings and events
- NC is connecting collegiate members with traditional members in a new program called TNC to keep collegiate’s more in the loop on state activities and opportunities after college
- Did you know that Miss South Carolina is an ESA member?
- ESA involves YOU and improves YOU
- ESA = Confidence
- Always work from the bottom up...remember all of us are individual chapter members first Look for obvious people to ask to join ESA like IC Convention photographer Jerry Hymer
- Invite MALs to State Events
- Tell prospective members...you're only as active as you want to be, but the more active you are, the more active you’ll want to be
